E-Bikes
What is an E-Bike? The popularity of electric bikes has grown massively in previous years and it’s easy to understand why. We believe an e-bike is perfect for you if you want all the benefits of cycling but would like some extra assistance to help you along the way. If you would like to leave the car behind and commute to work, ride flat gentle trails or climb mountains, an e-bike enables you to ride when the distance, terrain or even riding at all would be limited or not possible with a traditional bike. Technology has moved very quickly so that an e-bike can cover up to 150km on 1 charge and e-bikes make even the toughest terrain possible. “How long will the battery last”, “how far can I ride”, “how often do I need to recharge the battery” are just some of the most common questions we get asked. The simple answer is that battery and motor technology has developed so quickly so that the distance you can cover is now almost irrelevant. What we also do like to explain is how many different factors, such as the weather, tyre pressures, terrain etc etc, can effect the distance you will achieve on one full charge. Bosch has created a very clever website to explain. You can change select and change features of the bike, the rider and the environment to see how they all effect the range. Follow the link below to access the Bosch Range Assistant Bosch e-Bike Range Assistant You ride your e-bike in the same way as a traditional bike. As you ride along you can easily control the amount of assist you want from the electric motor enabling you to put in the level of effort that suits you, this is done by using the controls that are mounted on the handlebars. Example:- Eco – Giving the most lowest level of assist while enabling maximum range
- Normal or Trail – Gradual support for sportive riding
- High or Boost – Full support for easiest riding
How It Works
Riding your e-bike is the same as any traditional bike. You pedal in the normal way and your gears and brakes work exactly the same as any other bike. The difference is the additional control you have over how much assist you want from the electric motor. You can increase or decrease the amount of assist you want simply by using the buttons mounted on the handlebars to change the mode.
The computer screen will give you all the informatiion you need such as which assist mode you are using, your speed and the amount of distance left before the battery needs charging.
